Cell Phone Protection

Cell phones, like other wireless devices, give off radiation, known as radio frequency radiation (RFR). Anywhere from 20% to 60% of the radiation is estimated to transfer into your head, depending on the distance from your phone's antenna.

There can be health dangers caused by such radiation, though this is still a matter of controversy. But the perceived dangers have led to companies manufacturing devices that are said to protect the user from these ill effects, or at least to reduce them. These products range from reflective shields to ferrite bead covers that clamp on around the headset wire.

Cell phones will not go away - far from it. If you feel they can cause potential dangers, you should consider some means of protection.

The folks over at Hoopajoo Labs have an interesting video on how you ca increase the signal strength of your cellphone: it’s an external antenna you can make from a ruler, wire cutters, and some copper.
